Privacy Policy
Our privacy policy outlines how we collect, use and when we can disclose personal information to third parties. It sets out the rights that you have in relation to that personal information.
Under the Privacy Act 1993, you have the right to access personal information that we hold about you and to request corrections to that personal information if the situation arises.
1. Personal Information
This information includes your name, company name, physical address, email address, telephone number and mobile number.
2. Purpose
The information we collect and hold about you allows us to:
- Contact you regarding our legal services (i.e instructions obtained from you regarding proposed legal work, our future communications to you, the drafting of legal submissions, representing you and our invoicing).
- Obtain further instructions from you (i.e authorizing us to continue to act).
- Meet our compliance obligations under the law.
3. Authority
Our authority to obtain personal information is given by your written or verbal consent which you can withdraw at any stage. However, your withdrawal will not affect the lawfulness of the personal information already obtained and or processed by us.
4. Disclosures
During the course of our legal work we may need to disclose personal information about you to third parties (i.e persons who perform functions on our behalf or other entities). This also includes advice that we provide to you, if you are the client or alternatively the primary client, if you are authorised to act on behalf of the client.
In such instances we may disclose personal information about you if you authorize us, if it is required by law or required by the New Zealand Law Society’s Rules of Professional Conduct.
5. Updates to our Privacy Policy
We reserve the right to update our privacy policy from time to time. Any changes that we make will be noted on our website.
